Where did I come from

The origin of Man has been questioned and debated since the beginning of civilization. Scientists, Theologians and Layman have questioned and sought answers to these questions as best they can. The answers to the questions have always been narrow and incomplete.

Theologians have answered this with the understanding of their faith. Spontaneous creation is the most common form taught by "Men of Faith". That at some time in the distant past, a deity or group of deities created Man, fully formed and sentient. The epic taught and the exact method believed depends on the religious background of the particular Theologian, but the story is basically the same.

Scientist have, over the past few centuries, used Evolution to explain the origins of man. This explanation follows the belief that at some time in the far distant past, chemicals joined and life started. Through a slow process of evolution this chance meeting and mingling of chemicals became all the different forms of life on this planet.

Layman have either believed one of the above explanations, though recently there is another explanation that many have taken on as strong as a religious belief. This newer one is that we are the result of travelers from distant worlds. These Aliens have visited this world, manipulated and directed life here. This explanation has permeated all levels of society and is believed strongly by it's followers. Even some scholars have taken on this explanation. This explanation can only fit the middle and the end, it doesn't fit the beginning or the evidence of evolution.

The problem with all the above explanations is that they fall short of a complete answer. Though the religious answer is easy to accept, requires no proof and in one form or another has been taught for many centuries. It can't explain away evolutionary evidence which mounts up as each decade passes. The scientific answer fills the gaps that religion won't or can't fill, it to falls short. It can explain the similarities and differences in most species, why animals have a certain coloring, a special type of paw or hand. Where they fall short is, evolution can not explain "Cognition", this is not something that can come from pure evolution. The third, "Alien" explanation, is merely a result of the disillusionment of people with faith and science. Those that would seek any answer that, like religion, makes us separate from the rest of life on this world.

Life is here because life can be here, as the scientific answer says. This planet is able to sustain life because of many different reasons, too numerous to list here. The right chemicals, enough water and volcanism are the major reasons. When and how life exactly began is of no importance, it is here now. Though the scientific explanation does the best job of explaining the actual beginning. This only explains the origins of life itself, it does not cover cognition.

{Cognition is the mark of the human soul}

Through the development of life on this world many diverse forms came into existence. This life is what brought the Gods to us. In difference to other belief systems, we believe that life here brought the Gods to us rather then the Gods bring life to this world. This planet would have life on it whether the Gods were here or not. The thing the Gods brought to this world is Cognition, this is the thing that sets us aside from the rest of the animals. Cognition is the creative side of Man, it is dreams and the ability to create that which has never before existed. This is evident now more then ever before in human history. We have created microbial life, computers and many more examples of cognition.

This combination of evolution and Divine intervention that created Man fill most of the gaps. Physical evidence of evolution can not be denied, as well as spiritual evidence that shows our connection to the Devine . This is the combination of the answers that fits all aspects, that no single answer can.
